After two years, Microsoft Finully has completed its EU data boundary, a solution to commercial and public sector customers that allows their trade and processes their data with the EU and the European Association of Free Trade, which is the intergovernmental organization of Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. This can be used on Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, power platform and most Azure Services.

What is the EU data limit for Cloud Microsoft?
The EU’s Cloud Microsoft data boundaries were launched in January 2023, which recorded European customer data from Microsoft Cloud’s basic services at local level. Over the next two years, the scope has been extended to include pseudonymized personal data and “professional services” data, such as protocols and notes transmitted between customers and Microsoft to facilitate technical support. Some customers may have to go through further steps to obtain a commitment to store professional services.
Microsoft also states that in rare security incidents that require global intelligence, some customer data may be transferred to the EU data limit. However, it emphasizes that any such transfers would be carried out with robust security measures, included encryption and strict access controls and would be transparent.
EU regulators have long voting Microsoft handling of data data and citing concerns about the sovereignty, transparency and adherence to GDPR. Other technological giants are also in their cross parts, with a record in 2023 receiving a record sentence of EUR 1.2 billion for incorrect user data transfers between the US and Europe.
“The EU data boundaries reflect Microsoft’s obligation to provide unrivaled cloud services of European transparency, protect privacy and improve customer control,” Microsoft’s managers wrote in a blog post and emphasized their more than $ 20 billion in European AI and cloud infrastructure.
European Fertile Data Regulations
Europe has become famous for its fertile data, included the general data protection regulation, the German Federal Data Protection Act, the UK data protection Act, and the CLIn French Data Protection Act. This means that European cloud users with their distribution data in data centers around the world may be difficult to observe the necessary local laws.
The growing number of technological giants, including Amazon, Oracle, Google and now Microsoft, offer data solutions, allowing organizations more control over where their data are maintained to ensure compliance with these regulations.
